Strategies to Eliminate Stress In Your Life

Instructor: Jim Phillips (view profile)

Just as seeds need the right balance of soil medium, moisture content, temperature, and proper nutrients to provide an environment for growth and development, all human beings require the right kind of physical and emotional environment that will stimulate a love for learning and the freedom to risk and grow. Typically so much priority is given to the physical environment and the hi-tech tools to enhance learning that the most critical element–The Right Emotional Climate—is inadvertently overlooked.
  • What causes us to divert our instincts to a survival mode instead of keeping them open and available for growth to maximizing our potential?
  • How do we get back in touch with our instincts?
  • What is the best way to deal with stress?

Instructor: Jim Phillips
Jim Phillips is a nationally known speaker and teacher who has professionally taught thousands of classes all across the United States for 40 years. For a number of years prior to this career, his hobby was teaching cold weather safety & survival.

Jim is a strong advocate of self-reliance living and family preparedness. He developed an entire preparedness curriculum by asking himself the question “What if?” and then setting out to discover what actually does and does not work.

The answers he seeks (and then teaches) must be based on true principles derived from first hand experience. Above all else, he believes that attitude and practical knowledge is more critical to survival than having a bunch of “stuff.”

Guests: Kenneth H. Patey & Sharon Patey
Kenneth H. Patey, the Founder of GrowthClimate, has been a professional educator since 1963. He has taught on both a junior and senior high school level, and on a university level in the United States and in the Middle East. His academic preparation includes a B.S. degree in Child Development, Family Relations, and Sociology, and an M.S. degree in Counseling. He has also done post-graduate study in Hebrew and in Historical Geography at the Institute of Holyland Studies in Jerusalem, Israel.

Ken has lived in Canada, England, the United States, and the Middle East. Together with his family, he has traveled extensively in other countries as well. This exposure to people from many nations, including his work with Native Americans, has provided a wealth of intercultural experience, and deepened his profound understanding of relationships.

Sharon Patey holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and a master’s degree in clinical social work. She has been involved in family life education all of her adult life and has traveled throughout the world, developing a profound love for all cultures.

Since 1980, Sharon and her husband, Ken, have provided educational courses and workshops for individuals struggling in relationships or for families fractured by domestic violence and divorce. One of Sharon’s greatest loves is assisting individuals in tapping into their personal resources by trusting their instincts and intuitive responses
