Power Grid Loss in America

If the Lights Went Out in America

Instructor and Host: Jim Phillips (view profile)
Featuring: Doug Fabrizio & Ted Koppel

For our program this week, I’ll be introducing a very important radio interview I would like every person in this country to hear — even if they don’t think it’s true.

Our interconnected power grid is the golden thread that weaves our entire society together, and keeps us connected to the modern world.  Should it go away for any reason for any extended period of time, the results would catastrophic to our country as a whole, one household at a time.

After hearing my introduction, please continue the instruction by listening to the interview of Ted Koppel conducted by Doug Fabrizio at KUER in Salt Lake City.  It is titled “If The Lights Went Out In America” — first broadcast live on November 3, 2015, and then rebroadcast January 15, 2016 — the link is below.

Instructor: Jim Phillips
Jim Phillips is a nationally known speaker and teacher who has professionally taught thousands of classes all across the United States for 40 years. For a number of years prior to this career, his hobby was teaching cold weather safety & survival.

Jim is a strong advocate of self-reliance living and family preparedness. He developed an entire preparedness curriculum by asking himself the question “What if?” and then setting out to discover what actually does and does not work.

The answers he seeks (and then teaches) must be based on true principles derived from first hand experience. Above all else, he believes that attitude and practical knowledge is more critical to survival than having a bunch of “stuff.”
